07.Hiroyoshi Nishizawa(にしざわ ひろよし)

My opinion:
planes:
Zero fighter is a great plane, it has a great turning ratio, easily to control, unbelievable range of attack, multiple function......etc. However, zero fighter was still tugged by the wrong policy in Japan -- they keep improve the platform, the zero fighter, as it was defeated by the US navy often as their plane isn't safety enough -- non of the zero fighter got a bullet proof shell even if it was designed to have, and their fuel tank are fragile -- it seldom took fighter pilot who was struck by the enemy back. It is quite a serious problem. The one, especially the aces, that has experience seldom teach the new beys how to deal with their enemy, how to fight with their weapon. It actually indirectly lead to the result that they started to kamikaze -- if I couldn't survive in high intensity war because I am lack of experience, why bother just train for kamikaze and try the best to destroy enemies ?
This pilot:
The reason why I interview this fighter is that he was a member of the Tainan Air Group (台南海軍航空隊). Instead of that, he was somehow willing to kamikaze. As the history passed, the reason that he is willing for that isn't able to know. But he is the weird one as most of the fighter cherish their life, he didn't. I am not with kamikaze, but in my opinion, he has a lonely and unsuccessful soul that tried to fight to the last minute of his life. Ironically, the man tried to dedicate his life to the battle didn't die on his plane as a pilot, those cherish their life were crawled in the sky.

Born in an alcohol shop, his characteristic was hate losing, which highly affect his life, lead him to become an Ace. He joint the Navy when he was 14, started his life in military. After trained, he was assigned to the 4th Navy Air Squadron, later been merged to the Tainan Air Group (台南海軍航空隊). According to his former colleague, Saburo Sakai, he was about 172 cm tall, 60 kg weigh, looks white, often plagued by malaria and cutaneous condition. As he is also great at Judo, they often called him the “devil.” Sakai even mentioned that “I have never seen who is so good at flying the Zero fighter.” He become a confirmed quickly after his is transported to the squadron after he shot down six fighters in three days.

He become famous as he once played tricked named as Danse Macabre. Once when they were spying radio, they found out that an Australia radio station is playing the song “Danse Macabre”, he and his colleague decided to do some air show on the top of Port Moresby AB. The night they got an English paper said that they will be welcome by the soldier next time when they do the same trick again.

After the war in Tainan, he and his squadron was transported to Rabel to fight with the US. As one of his friend – Sakai was heavily harmed, he took him to the hospital himself. But since the US Navy out number and out tactic them, one and another ace died, till they were all been taken back to Japan as tutor. At 1944, the squadron he was in, the 203 naval air force squadron was made to escort the first kamikaze mission, where he shot down two more enemies, which was the last to confirmed kill. He tried to volunteered for the kamikaze mission, but was rejected, as his plane, a Zero fighter type 52 with a 250 pound bomb, was taken out to taken part in the kamikaze, hit USS Suwannee on the deck with lots of torpedoes bomber, KIA(killed in action) 85 and made 58 MIA(miss in action), wounded 102.

After that, he and other pilot take Nakajima Ki-49 to handover his new plane, but was shot down on their way.

May the lonely soul rest in peace.
